Get your Navigation License with Taboga
The Navigation License is an essential qualification to govern pleasure boats up to 6 meters in length and jet skis in daytime navigation, with a maximum distance of 2 miles from a port or shelter.
This license has no expiration and does not require an exam. You only need to attend a 2-hour theoretical course and complete 4 hours of safety and navigation practices, in addition to obtaining a medical certificate from a driver center.

(PER) Skipper of pleasure boats

The title of Recreational Boat Skipper, or as it is usually called "PER", qualifies you to do coastal navigation in boats of up to 15 meters.
The PER does not require prior licenses or qualifications. To achieve this, you need to pass a multiple choice theoretical exam and do internships at an approved nautical school, such as Taboga.
This title is ideal for carrying out all types of voyages as a boat skipper. It allows you to operate motor and sailing boats, and with proper practices, also jet skis.

(PY) Yacht Skipper

With the title of Yacht Skipper you will be able to govern boats up to 24 meters in length and navigate up to 150 miles from the coast. To obtain this qualification, you need to have the title of Recreational Boat Skipper (PER) and pass the corresponding exam.

With the title of Yacht Captain you will be able to govern boats up to 24 meters in length and navigate without limit of distance to the coast. To obtain this qualification, it is necessary to previously have the Yacht Skipper title and pass several theoretical exams.
