Navigation license (Titulín)
The Navigation License, also known as Titulín, is the most basic nautical certification that allows you to govern pleasure boats and jet skis. It is ideal for those who want to start sailing easily and quickly, without the need to take complex exams.
Navigation License Attributions
With the Navigation License you can:
- Steering boats up to 6 meters in length and with adequate engine power according to their
maker. - They also enable the control of jet skis WITHOUT POWER LIMIT.
- Authorized navigation will be from sunrise to sunset, DAYLIGHT NAVIGATION as long as they do not go more than 2 nautical miles in any direction from a port, marina or place of shelter.
- THERE IS NO EXAM, we deliver the Navigation License the same day, at the end of the course.
- Practices are carried out on a 12 meter long boat, normally on Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., departing from the Real Club Náutico de Cádiz. (Punta de San Felipe S/N, Cádiz)
- In order to take the course we need to know your full name and ID number on Wednesday before 3:30 p.m.; Exceptionally, you can communicate on Thursday before 3:30 p.m.
For a long time, the Titulín was the preferred option for those who wanted to start sailing with small boats. Today, this title has evolved and is known as the Navigation License. This license continues to be the most accessible and simple option to get started in recreational sailing, but with greater facilities and a more modern structure.
Requirements to Obtain the License
To obtain the Navigation License with Taboga, you need to meet the following requirements:
- Minimum age of 18 years: Minors (16 years old) must have authorization from parents or guardians.
- Attend 4 hours of practical navigation classes and 2 hours of teaching
theoretical. - Medical certificate: Similar to that required for a driver's license
Course content
The Navigation License course with Taboga includes:
- Theoretical part: Basic navigation regulations, safety rules, and fundamental knowledge about boat handling.
- Practical part: Basic docking and undocking maneuvers, navigation safety, equipment management and procedures
The old headline
To exchange the old title for the Navigation License, you need:
- Medical examination of a driver center
- Photocopy of the DNI and the old title
- Carry out 4 hours of navigation practices
